Day 1: Tarangire National Park – Land of Elephants and Baobabs

Your journey begins with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Arusha at 7:30 am by your experienced Serengeti Sphere Safaris guide. After a short introduction, drive approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to reach Tarangire National Park.

Spend the morning and afternoon exploring the park’s rolling savannah dotted with majestic baobab trees and home to Tanzania’s largest herds of elephants. Look out for lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and an impressive variety of birds.

After an early breakfast, depart camp and drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop briefly at the crater rim viewpoint to admire the incredible vista before descending 600 meters into this ancient volcanic caldera, a haven for wildlife and often called Africa’s Eden.

Spend the morning exploring the crater floor, which shelters nearly every large animal species found in East Africa. Keep your camera ready for sightings of the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffalo, elusive leopards, and the critically endangered black rhino. Watch for large pods of hippos wallowing in the pools and flocks of flamingos decorating the lake’s shallows.

Stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot near the hippo pool, soaking in the unique atmosphere surrounded by Africa’s finest wilderness.
