From the vibrant wildlife of Lake Manyara and the endless plains of the Serengeti to the ancient cultures of Lake Eyasi and the majestic Ngorongoro Crater, this immersive safari combines Tanzania’s most iconic landscapes and diverse traditions into one incredible journey.

Your Safari Day Plan

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast in Arusha, embark on a scenic drive through Maasai villages and open plains as you head to Lake Manyara National Park. Known for its lush groundwater forests, alkaline lake, and tree-climbing lions, this park is a gem for photographers and wildlife lovers.

Expect to see elephants, hippos, and prolific birdlife including flamingos and the lilac-breasted roller. Optional experiences include canoe safaris (seasonal), treetop canopy walks, or an exciting night game drive.

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, begin your journey to the world-famous Serengeti. Pass through the misty forests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you may encounter elephants, baboons, and cape buffalo along the way.

Optional stops:

  • Oldupai Gorge Museum – Explore one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world.

  • Maasai Boma Visit – Interact with the Maasai community, learn their traditions, and enjoy cultural dances.

Arrive in the Serengeti and head straight into the wild for an afternoon game drive. The vast savannahs are home to iconic wildlife and the famed Great Migration, making this a spectacular day of safari adventure.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Begin your day with an early morning game drive, when the predators are most active, or choose an optional sunrise hot air balloon safari followed by a champagne breakfast.

Spend the rest of the day exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti in search of the Big Five and the migrating herds. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush and soak in the raw beauty of Africa’s most iconic landscape.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, continue your safari journey through the Serengeti toward the Ngorongoro highlands. Along the way, keep your eyes open for animals you may have missed—leopards, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and massive elephant herds.

You’ll arrive near the Ngorongoro Crater in the late afternoon and prepare for tomorrow’s crater expedition.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Eyasi

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This ancient volcanic caldera is home to lions, elephants, rhinos, hyenas, and over 25,000 other animals.

Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before heading toward Lake Eyasi, where cultural adventures await the following day.

Day 6: Lake Eyasi to Tarangire Region

Wake up early for an unforgettable cultural experience with the Hadzabe bushmen, one of Africa’s last true hunter-gatherer tribes. Join them on a traditional morning hunt and learn about their ancient techniques.

Later, meet the Datoga people, skilled blacksmiths and farmers, for another glimpse into Tanzania’s rich tribal heritage. Then, depart Lake Eyasi and make your way toward the Tarangire region for the night.

Day 7: Full Day in Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, enter Tarangire National Park, known for its giant baobab trees, sweeping savannahs, and enormous elephant herds.

Game drives along the Tarangire River offer chances to see a variety of wildlife including lions, zebras, buffaloes, and even rare species like the Fringe-Eared Oryx and Greater Kudu. Enjoy a riverside picnic and soak in the park’s vibrant ecosystem before heading back to camp for the evening.

Day 8: Cultural Experience and Return to Arusha

On your final day, head toward the outskirts of Arusha for a cultural immersion experience with the Maasai people. Participate in traditional activities like spear throwing, herbal medicine walks, and dance ceremonies.

Enjoy a farewell traditional lunch and reflect on the unforgettable experiences of the past week. You’ll then be transferred to Arusha or the airport for your onward journey.
