Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your Arusha accommodation around 7:30 am. Meet your friendly guide and enjoy a scenic drive through the Maasai Steppe to Tarangire National Park — about two hours away.

Famous for its ancient baobabs and the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania, Tarangire offers dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife. Spend the day exploring the river valleys and open woodlands searching for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and predators such as lions and leopards.

Pause midday for a delicious picnic lunch at a designated site overlooking the Tarangire River. After an afternoon game drive, head to your comfortable midrange lodge near the park for dinner and a restful night.

Day 2: Journey to Serengeti National Park — Endless Horizons Await

Spend a full day exploring the legendary Serengeti. Wake up early to catch the predators at their most active as the sun rises over the plains.

Your guide will lead you to the best areas to find lions, cheetahs, and possibly leopards resting in the acacia trees. Watch massive herds of wildebeest and zebras grazing, and marvel at elephants and hippos cooling off in rivers and waterholes.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in a safe, scenic area then continue your adventure into the afternoon, following wildlife movements and your guide’s insider knowledge.

Return to your lodge or camp by evening for dinner and relaxation under the stars.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area — Highlands and Ancient Craters

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti to spot any animals you may have missed. Take in the last moments of these endless plains before starting your journey back through the Ngorongoro highlands.

Optional: Stop at Olduvai Gorge (entrance fee extra) to learn about early human evolution and archaeological discoveries.

Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim or nearby highlands in time for dinner and a good night’s sleep surrounded by the cool air of the mountains.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater — Wonders of the Lost World

Wake up early for breakfast, then descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural amphitheater that shelters an astonishing density of wildlife.

Spend the morning exploring the crater floor and watch for lions, elephants, buffalo, spotted hyenas, and, with luck, the endangered black rhino. Marvel at the diverse birdlife and enjoy hippos snorting in the pools.
