Your Safari Day Plan
Day 1: Tarangire National Park – Giants of the Savannah
Your adventure begins at 7:30 am with pick-up from your accommodation in Arusha. Meet your dedicated Serengeti Sphere Safaris guide and enjoy a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, about 1 hour and 45 minutes away.
Famed for its ancient baobab trees and the largest concentration of elephants in northern Tanzania, Tarangire offers a classic safari experience. Spend the day exploring the riverine forests and open grasslands in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and predators like lions and cheetahs.
Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the Tarangire River and continue your game drive into the afternoon. Exit the park in the late afternoon and drive to a campsite in the nearby area for dinner and overnight.
Meals Included: Lunch and Dinner
Day 2: Serengeti National Park – Into the Endless Plains
After breakfast, pack up camp and depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area along the way.
Enjoy an en-route game drive and picnic lunch as you enter the Serengeti’s boundless plains. This is the heart of the Great Migration and home to some of Africa’s largest lion prides.
Spend the afternoon spotting herds of wildebeest and zebras, as well as predators like cheetahs and hyenas. Reach your campsite inside the Serengeti by sunset for dinner and overnight surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 3: Serengeti National Park – Full Day in the Wild
Rise with the sun for a full day to explore the Serengeti’s endless savannahs and riverine habitats. Morning and afternoon game drives give you the best chance to see big cats hunting at dawn and elephants cooling off near the waterholes by midday.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the park, then continue your adventure through different areas, following the wildlife movements and your guide’s expert advice.
Return to your campsite in the evening for dinner under the starlit sky.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Tracking the Big Cats
After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive while slowly making your way out of the Serengeti. Take this chance to spot any animals you may have missed.
Optional: Stop at Olduvai Gorge (entrance fee extra) to learn about the cradle of humankind.
Arrive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area by late afternoon and set up camp near the crater rim. Dinner and overnight in the cool highland air.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Africa’s Natural Wonder
After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and often called the eighth wonder of the world.
Explore the crater floor where you can see the Big Five — lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and (sometimes) leopard — all within a dramatic caldera backdrop. Watch herds of wildebeest and zebras grazing peacefully and keep an eye out for large hippo pods and flocks of flamingos.
Enjoy a picnic lunch near a scenic hippo pool and soak in the unique atmosphere before ascending the crater walls in the afternoon and beginning your drive back to Arusha. Arrive by early evening, marking the end of your incredible 5-day adventure with Serengeti Sphere Safaris.
